So, if you don’t know already, there are apps that handle the pre-order shipping functions (like delivering the shipping quotes to your Bigcommerce shopping cart) and other apps that handle post-order shipping functions (like printing out the shipping labels). We were using ShipStation for both, but their pre-order shipping functionality is VERY limited and it was making us crazy. Advanced Shipping Manager handles the pre-order side and does a great job at it. It can do all the things we’ve always been wishing ShipStation could do and so much more! We’re still using ShipStation for the post-order stuff, but if you’re frustrated with your shipping options functionality in your Bigcommerce shopping cart as we were, I highly recommend getting Advanced Shipping Manager for your pre-order functionality. It’s worth every penny!
We just started using ASM for shipping fees on our website. Their customer service is unmatched. They helped us create all the necessary shipping rules we require as a demo to show us how ASM can fit our specific needs. Being able to include or exclude certain zip codes is a great feature that was missing from our previous shipping fees. I have high hopes that ASM will continue to be used on our website as we grow and need to adjust our rates accordingly.

My Made in America eCommerce site utilizes Drop-Shipping merchants from around the country. Almost every one has a unique Shipping cost algorithm. It was driving me bonkers to try to make this work. I had been told and had read about Advanced Shipping Manager a couple of years ago, but wasn’t ready to make the investment in a monthly superscription service, but have now taken the leap. It’s absolutely worth the fee just for the peace of mind, let alone what I am sure will be increased sales because I’ll be able to now dive into adding more and more products. I was slow-walking adding products because I knew that one day I’d have to redo all of the shipping. Now I have no bottlenecks to building my business. I am about to go live with the app, now having uploaded the new shipping parameters (for each merchant) and can’t wait. In my onboarding process with ASM, the customer service has been stellar. They are extremely prompt in answering questions and have been great about scheduling calls with me (with a live human being!) to get me going. I highly recommend Advanced Shipping Manager and WISH I had signed up two years ago. I’ll review again in a couple of months after being live.

Integrating ASM into our website has enabled us to offer much more specific and relevant shipping methods to our customers. We use different carriers, who charge different prices, depending on which products our customers are purchasing, and integrating ASM allowed us to tailor the shipping methods to suit the customers much better. We are a UK-based company while ASM is US-based, but they were able to make sure everything worked for us over here. The support team are always pleasant to talk with and want to make sure everything’s working fine.
We have been using this company for I believe over 5 years. We have seen them improve on a lot of things. If you need advanced shipping calculations you will like this App. It allows for calculations on multiple boxes per single sku. Or multiple sku’s with multiple boxes in the cart at once. While it is not perfect, I think it can really help you. The customer support has always been really great. I wish Amazon support was as good as this companies!

We have used Advanced Shipping Manager in our Yahoo business for accurate shipping charges for the past few years. We recently moved over to the Miva Platform and we were glad to see the module. We did not hesitate to chose this service.
This allows you to count how many items can go in each box and assign items to specific boxes. It works with UPS and USPS. If you are shipping international or Air Packages this is MUST! If you quote someone for a next day air box that ends up being two boxes this extra cost will cost you more than the cost of this module for this one shipment.

We swapped out our old Viking Coder module for this. The setup was pretty straight forward. We had a few hiccups along the way but the online FAQ and phone and email support was pretty good and our concerns were addressed. Here and there we’ve had minor issues but truthfully with my lack of experience in the shipping end, some errors in weight and the fact that we often set up products and attributes in unexpected ways I can’t fault the product. The individual product level interface for the shipping settings has some obscure items (to me)like ‘Options weight points’ that I had to look up, and call to sort out; in this regard the only tjing that might be useful was if those items were explained right in the interface, but that’s nit picking. All in all a good product that addresses a sometimes cumbersome, confusing and complicated area (shipping).

We moved to Advanced Shipping Manager after trying a few other shipping and LTL freight plugins that were never quite a perfect fit. Customers will continue placing orders in the same way, and their experience will remain the same. They will not see anything differently other than the shipping rate itself. No. Your customers will remain on your website throughout the entire process. There will be no popups, or any “hacks”.
Yes, you can charge a handling fee by using the Shipping Rate Markup feature. It can be done with a flat rate and/or a percentage of the shipping rate.
Yes, you can name the shipping methods anyway that you choose. For example, you can call FedEx Ground, “Ground”. Customers will only see “Ground” although FedEx Ground will be the active shipping method.
Yes, you can use any combination of shipping companies that you wish.
Yes, international orders and shipping rates are fully supported.
Yes, shipping rates to PO Boxes will be calculated by the Advanced Shipping Manager, when a shipping method that allows shipping to a PO Box is selected.

Yes, the Advanced Shipping Manager currently supports over 20 freight/trucking companies. We continue to add more companies on a regular basis. If you have a company that you want to use and that we do not currently offer, please contact us. You may be pleasantly surprised. Often we are able to add a shipping company by customer request.
In most cases, we can easily upgrade you. However, if we customized Version 1 for you, we may need to review your installation prior to upgrading. For all upgrade questions, please contact us for detais.
Absolutely! We added this great feature in Version 2. It allows you to add multiple rates to a single shipping method. The rate(s) that are used for that method depend on a set of rules which you can create in the back-end. For example: You can create hybrid shipping methods that charge a flat rate up until five pounds, and then real-time rates kick in over five pounds. You can even have that be a different rule depending on where the item ships from.
If you are using our multiple origin zip code feature, the Advanced Shipping Manager, will use the closest warehouse to your customer’s shipping address. We can also customize this to work with your inventory system, so that only warehouse that actually have the item in stock will be used.
Our new Rate Mapping feature allows you to create different shipping rules for each dropshipper. The rules can all be attached to a single shipping method. For example: You can set “Dropshipper A” to use UPS rates, and “Dropshipper B” to use FedEx rates. If a customer places an order with items that are coming from both dropshippers, our system will calculate both shipments according to the rules that you set.
